World Radio Day and Environment Day: Strengthening the Role of Media in Awareness
On the occasion of World Radio Day, combined with Environment Day, Green Land Centrafrique (GLCA) participated in a debate broadcast on Radio Oubangui Médias around a crucial question: “What role does radio play in supporting environmental associations?”
The discussions underscored the importance of radio as an outreach tool, capable of effectively raising awareness among populations, including those in rural areas. With its broad reach and accessibility, radio is an indispensable ally in spreading messages on environmental protection.
The Coordinator of GLCA, alongside other community leaders, emphasized the need to strengthen collaborations between local radio stations and civil society actors in order to amplify the impact and visibility of awareness campaigns. Such partnerships, they noted, are vital for reaching more people and achieving meaningful change.
The debate also highlighted how radio remains a key channel for encouraging civic engagement and inspiring communities to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors. It sparks action and nurtures collective commitment toward a more sustainable future.
Through this celebration, the central role of radio as a strategic partner for environmental associations was fully confirmed. For GLCA, every message shared over the airwaves is an opportunity to change habits and inspire positive change on a large scale.
