Conference-Debate on Plastic Pollution in Bimbo: Acting Together for Sustainable Solutions

Following the World Environment Day, Green Land Centrafrique (GLCA) brought together community leaders and local actors in Bimbo for a conference-debate on the theme: “The Fight Against Plastic Pollution.” This gathering was a valuable opportunity to reflect collectively on sustainable solutions to a threat that weighs heavily on our environment.

Discussions highlighted the many impacts of single-use plastics on health, agriculture, and ecosystems. The shared conclusion was alarming: plastic pollution is no longer just a matter of cleanliness—it is a major challenge for the sustainable development of our communities.

In response, participants proposed concrete alternatives, ranging from reducing single-use plastic consumption to strengthening recycling and promoting plastic waste recovery through local initiatives. These solutions reflect a shared determination to transform daily habits in order to safeguard the future.

Beyond the proposals, this meeting also helped strengthen collaboration among local associations and community actors. Together, they committed to coordinating their efforts, raising awareness among the population, and developing joint actions for sustainable waste management.

Through this conference, GLCA reaffirms its strong commitment to combat plastic pollution and to promote environmentally respectful lifestyles. This challenge, as daunting as it may seem, can become an opportunity—if we choose to act together to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable society.
